Makeup bases
Appointment. Primer, base and make-up base - a product that prepares the skin for subsequent makeup. It is chosen based on the skin type and the desired effect.
Features. A transparent primer based on silicones (e.g. dimethicone) gives a pleasant visual effect by tightening pores and hiding unevenness. But such bases require thorough cleansing, as they can clog the pores. Choice. Cream bases can be called universal. They will hide minor imperfections well, such as dilated blood vessels, age spots. Gel bases are great for oily skin without weighing it down. Typically, these primers have a matting effect. The foundation fluid will fit well on normal to dry skin that does not have serious problems. A primer oil or mousse will be a salvation for dry and dehydrated skin.
Method of application. First, you need to thoroughly cleanse and moisturize the skin. After the base treatment has been absorbed (3-5 minutes), the base can be applied in a thin layer. For example, with combination skin on the entire face, and with problem skin - only on the necessary areas. What to apply, everyone decides for himself, a brush will help to make a denser coating, which is good for evening makeup, and a sponge (for example, wet) will apply a more invisible layer. Do not use your fingers: the base can lie in streaks, which will appear after applying the foundation. Work with the primer from the center of the face to the periphery.
Frequent mistakes. Many women use a moisturizer instead of a base, attributing the same result to them. But the cream is absorbed to fill the skin with moisture from the inside. The base will remain only on the upper layer of the epidermis.

Micellar water
Appointment. Skin cleanser and makeup remover. Due to its special composition, it does not deprive the skin of its protective lipid film and does not cause irritation, it is suitable for problematic and sensitive skin prone to eczema or rosacea.
Features. Smart water was originally created as a cleanser for the sensitive, delicate skin of children. It does not contain soap, alcohol, alkali or foaming agents, which usually dry the skin and cause irritation. But it contains moisturizing components (for example, panthenol) that nourish and heal the skin. The name "micellar" comes from the Latin word "mica" - "grain". Indeed, the composition includes tiny micelles - surface-active molecules (surfactants) with a special structure: the upper part is hydrophilic, dissolving in water, and the lower part is lipophilic, disappearing in fats. These cleansing microparticles capture impurities from the surface of the skin without going deep into the epidermis.
Choice. Micellar water is good because it suits any type of skin - both young and old. However, the almost universal remedy has its pros and cons. Micellar water is good at removing impurities and makeup from the face, neck and even sensitive areas such as eyes and lips. But it will never completely cleanse the skin, as it affects the top layer, so it is better for owners of problematic, oily and combination skin to combine the product with gels and foams for washing.
Mode of application. It is enough to moisten a cotton pad and wipe the face, eyelids, lips, neck and décolleté. The procedure should be repeated until the used disc is clean. A little life hack: an ear stick soaked in the product will help to correct errors in makeup. Today, many people use micellar water as their only purification agent. However, experts are divided into two camps: some believe that micelles are similar to the hydrolipid mantle of the skin, so they really do not require additional cleansers, others say that microparticles still need to be recognized as foreign elements, so it is better to wash them off with water. Lotions
Appointment. The main purpose of lotions is to enhance the effectiveness of cleansing before applying the next product.
Features. The word “lotio” translated from Latin means “washing, ablution”. Lotion is a face cleanser that contains several active ingredients and may also contain alcohol. Thanks to him, the lotion fights against oily skin, acne and other imperfections. The main function in the composition of the lotion is always performed by water (thermal or mineral), which, depending on the task, is enriched with various components - for example, herbal infusions, vitamins and acids.
Choice. Lotions come in different types, such as water, alcohol, or acidic. The former are often enriched with various herbal ingredients and are suitable for daily use.
In the case of acne, enlarged pores and oily skin, it is better to refuse them in favor of products based on alcohol. They perfectly cleanse the skin from excess sebium. However, alcohol is an aggressive component that removes not only grease and dirt from the skin, but also some important substances. Therefore, you can use this type of lotion only after consulting a dermatologist so as not to dry the skin. In addition, alcohol lotions should be completely abandoned in the summer, as they provoke the appearance of age spots.
Also, such funds are contraindicated for owners of dry, sensitive and mature skin. They should use acidic lotions, such as citric or lactic acid, which have a whitening effect.

Tonics
Appointment. The toner is applied after cleansing the skin to normalize the pH balance after using other products, especially those containing aggressive ingredients. A tonic is needed at an intermediate stage between cleansing and moisturizing.
Features. The word "tonic" in translation from English means "invigorating, awakening, strengthening". It improves skin condition and normalizes cell function. It contains useful components.
Choice. For normal skin, it is enough to choose a product based on thermal water and hyaluronic acid.
For dry skin, toners that include moisturizing ingredients such as glycerin, hyaluronic acid, amino acids, juice or aloe extract are suitable.
Owners of oily skin can use a mattifying agent containing zinc. However, if you've used a lotion with the same effect before, it's best to use a toner with moisturizing ingredients to keep you hydrated.
Troubled skin that suffers from blackheads, inflammation and breakouts will be soothed by astringent toners with exfoliating ingredients like salicylic acid, zinc, and tea tree oil.
Sensitive skin will feel better after toning with a slightly oily texture and soothing ingredients. Chamomile, rose and calendula extracts in the composition will be decisive when choosing.
In the case of combination skin, try combining two tonics at once, depending on the problem areas: apply moisturizers to dry areas, and matting ones to the T-zone.

Mists

Features. Mist is not thermal water. A care product in the form of a spray can contain a wide variety of components: from ordinary or mineral water and plant extracts to glycerin and hyaluronic acid.
Choice. The main tasks of the mist are to moisturize and give freshness. Its compact bottle makes it easy to take with you on the go. When there is a feeling of tightness and peeling, it is enough to spray mist on the face and lightly blot with a napkin.
Mode of application. Spray the product onto clean skin from a distance of 10–20 cm from the face. Then, without getting dry, apply a cream or mask to better penetrate the skin. Thermal water
Appointment. Thermal water relieves irritation and soothes the skin due to its composition, which includes minerals and other beneficial substances.
Features. The boom in thermal sprays came in the middle of the 20th century. Pharmacy brands such as Vichy, Avène, La Roche-Posay, operating on natural waters, released the first sprays in which there was nothing but pure thermal water, not enriched with additional components. The deeper the source is in the ground, the higher the concentration of minerals in it.
Choice. Thermal water must be selected according to the skin type. So, in some products there is more calcium, which has a calming effect, in others - minerals that fill the skin with oxygen and improve metabolic processes, while others include sodium, zinc and sulfur, which will help oily and problem skin.
Silica-rich water can even be used as a makeup fixer. Silicon molecules form an invisible and weightless mask, preventing foundation and powder from crumbling or spreading.
If the composition contains hypotonic salt, the product will dry out oily and problem skin, and if isotonic, on the contrary, it will revive dry and sensitive, prone to irritation.
Mode of application. Water should be applied to clean skin, after the tonic and before using the cream, from a distance of 10–20 cm from the face, drawing a figure eight in the air. Do not blot immediately with a tissue, let the minerals enter the skin (about two minutes).
