Trio of Bvlgari men's fragrances from the Le Gemme collection
Bvlgari started traveling and collecting stones in its perfume box in 2014. And the key to the Le Gemme collection is the legend of the Path of Gems, a kind of journey from East to West in search of the sparkling gifts of nature. This summer, perfumer Jacques Cavalier sets out on routes leading overseas: to Australia for white opal, to Brazil for a hawk's eye, and to Madagascar in search of red jasper.
For the creation of the Opalon composition, Cavalier was inspired by the Australian white opal - a stone considered to be a symbol of purity, wisdom and good luck, and therefore adorned the crowns of emperors and kings for a long time. Opal deposits began to form in Australia about 150 million years ago, when the ocean receded, and sand caves appeared from the water, as if illuminated by the radiance. The first mentions of this stone were found among the natives, who believed that opal was a guide to the world of dreams.

Later mentioning refers to the ancient Greeks, who believed that the stone was formed from the tears of joy of Zeus after the victory over the Titans. Meanwhile, in ancient Rome, opal became a symbol of good luck and the stone of Cupid, the god of love. Jacques Cavalier saw his scent like this: light and fresh notes of neroli and ginger come first, as the scent unfolds, his heart of lemongrass and geranium is exposed, and in the trail - white musk and amber. Opalon is assertive, self-confident, yet simple and casual. Cavalier himself says that this is the scent of a summer Roman morning, when the light floods the squares and fountains and promises of new victories soar in the air.
Yasep is inspired by the blood red jasper from Madagascar. In ancient Rome, this stone was associated with the god Mars, and among the Egyptians it was considered a symbol of blood and vitality. Both considered him a powerful aphrodisiac. When Cavalier was pondering how to translate the fiery character of the stone into olfactory language, he realized that one could not do without a note of Sichuan pepper. It was the combination of rich sandalwood (originally from Madagascar) and pepper that gave Yasep a slightly warlike, pungent and very strong character.

The third fragrance in the Falkar collection is dedicated to the blue-green gem Hawkeye from Brazil. He is credited with the ability to protect travelers during wanderings. When the stone first appeared in Ancient Egypt, it was immediately associated with Horus, a god with the head of a bird of prey. It is believed that the stone helps to see what used to be under a veil of secrecy, and that is why they took the hawk's eye with them on a long journey. Jacques Cavalier decided to open the Falkar fragrance with notes of nutmeg and cinnamon. In the heart he placed incense, leather, saffron, black musk and oud. The scent is very deep. It may seem mystical to others.

Unisex fragrance Eau de Minthé, Diptyque
Greece is not the most exotic destination for Russians, but one of the most understandable in the good sense of the word. We sometimes understand the myths of Greece no worse than the epics of Tolstoy. Creating of Eau de Minthé, Diptyque perfumers went to the olfactory journey through Greek fertile land and rivers associated with the myth of Mingfu. She was one of the naiads - the beloved of the god of the underworld, Hades. When his wife, the goddess Proserpine, found out about her rival, she turned Minfu into mint, the aroma of which spread throughout the underworld.
