A down jacket is perhaps the main thing that should be in a winter wardrobe. This is confirmed not only by common sense, but also by runway shows that suggest wearing a jacket with silk trousers, ultra-short skirts and mesh tights. All these combinations are suitable for European winter conditions, but not Russian. So how to wear a down jacket in the merciless frost?

Method 1. With a long dress or skirt
The sophisticated, long down jacket to the floor is a trend set by the creative director of Valentino Pierpaolo Piccioli, who prepared an outerwear collection for the Moncler Genius project in 2019. Since such a down jacket is similar to a blanket, you may get the impression that it is not necessary to wear something special under it. I disagree with this and propose to complement the long down jacket with a dress or a floor-length skirt and boots to increase the degree of drama.

Method 2. With black total bow
Today's collections of world brands hint: it's time to give preference to outerwear in bright colors. Against the backdrop of a gray winter sky, a quilted down coat in dandelion or egg yolk shades, like those of Moncler and Ami, will look great. To make the accent more visible, the rest of the image - turtleneck, trousers and boots - can be made in black.

Method 3. In a set of light colors
You can not fight with the environment, armed with clothes of spirit-lifting colors, but mimic it with the help of light sets. As an example - the simple yet memorable look of Italian influencer Erica Boldrin, who matched white jeans and a relaxed light T-shirt with a creamy down coat, the color of which evokes thoughts of shortbread cookies and flat white from Coffeemania. Look for similar advice from Givenchy, Bottega Veneta, Ami, Brunello Cucinelli and Loro Piana.
