The respected house Vacheron Constantin has presented a completely new Fiftysix collection, which is a reference to the historical reference of 1956 (Ref. 6073), one of the brand's first automatic models. "Retrostyle in a modern design" - this is how the appearance of the new watch in steel and rose gold is characterized with alternating Arabic numerals and index-sticks on the dial. The line includes two versions with complications, which are responsible for the Vacheron Constantin in - house movements, marked with the Geneva hallmark: one with an indication of the day of the week, date and power reserve, the other with a function of a full calendar and lunar phases. The caliber of the simplest Fiftysix watch - an automatic three-hand with a date - is of a third party origin (first made for Vacheron Constantinone of the Richemont manufactories). Prices from 12,000 to 36,800 euros.

Jaeger-LeCoultre refers to the historic 50-year-old Memovox Polaris. The first waterproof sports watch with an alarm in 1968 (a beep to tell the diver the dive time) formed the basis of the new Polaris series. It has every chance of becoming the brand's fourth flagship collection, alongside Master, Rendez-vous and Reverso. Polaris includes an automatic model with a simple time display, a date watch, a chronograph, a world time chronograph and finally a tribute to the archived Polaris Memovox Limited Edition. The $ 12,600 steel watch, released in 1,000 pieces, went online yesterday.

Tireless record holder of ultra-thin watches house Piagethas already delighted lovers of elegant mechanics with the thinnest automatic watch Altiplano Ultimate, 4.3 mm thick. On the first day of the salon, the brand showed another incredible achievement. If in 1957 the first thin mechanical movement Piaget 9P had a thickness of 2 mm, then in 2018 this figure means the thickness of the finished watch in the case, however, the case and the movement in the Altiplano Ultimate Concept are even closer together than before. The whole structure is reduced to two levels: on the upper dial, hands and a bridge, on the lower one, a monolith of a case back, platinum and a cobalt alloy bezel, and a 0.2 mm thick sapphire crystal. In addition to the inverted movement design, the engineers created an innovative telescopic crown. The concept, which took four long years to develop, will eventually showhow viable are absolute subtlety records.
