Cape (from the English cape - cape) is a loose-fitting outerwear with buttons or zippers and with slits for the arms. Depending on the material - wool, cashmere, velvet, leather or nylon - it can be worn at different times of the year, and thanks to the hood, even in almost any weather. Unlike a coat, a cape makes the image more noble due to its similarity with the ermine mantle used, for example, at the coronations of European monarchs. Today, casual versions of such robes are worn by Elizabeth II, Kate Middleton, Princess Eugenie of York, as well as Melania Trump, Naomi Campbell and Victoria Beckham. However, one of the most coveted wardrobe items made by Cape Leighton Meester, the performer of the leading role in the TV series "Gossip Girl". For six seasons of teenage drama, her heroine Blair Waldorf changed a dozen capes, combining them with school suits, plaid skirts and jacquard dresses. Today the thing is returning to fashion again, and with it - and new principles of combinations.

Method 1. With skinny jeans
The cape makes the upper body visually more voluminous, so wide-leg trousers will not fit in addition to it. It is better to balance the image with a tight bottom - for example, skinny jeans, which should be tucked into suede or leather boots under the dictation of the trend and the weather. I do not recommend wearing a cape and jeans with ankle boots - they visually cut and shorten the leg. The only case in which you can wear both wide-leg trousers and ankle boots peeking out from under them is if the cape is short, barely reaching the waistline and elbow.
