Milk is good for bones and teeth
Researchers from Uppsala University in Sweden have observed more than 100,000 volunteers for 11 years and found that large milk lovers are more likely to be hospitalized with fractures than those who rarely drink milk. This seems like a paradox, because milk contains calcium, which is indispensable for strengthening bone tissue. However, the researchers believe that milk increases the risk of fractures, because it contains lactose, and its high doses accelerate the aging process, which makes bones prematurely fragile.
Can't eat after 6 p.m.
A team of Florida researchers led by Dr. Mike Ormsbrie has proven in practice that eating before bed is not only possible, but also necessary. Volunteers who drank protein shakes 30-50 minutes before bedtime felt better and lost weight faster than those who did not eat anything after six. We usually go to bed at about 10-11 pm, that is, at least four to five hours after the last meal. It's enough to get hungry, and those who don't eat before bed catch up at breakfast (and sometimes more at lunch). So eating at night is now officially allowed. One thing: an evening snack should be light and protein, no more than 150 calories.

If you want to eat, eat an apple
An apple is not the best snack. So says nutritionist Marina Kopytko, author of the book "I can lose weight." The fact is that apples contain quite a lot of sugar, which is unlikely to please those who are losing weight. In addition, about 25% of people after one apple experience an even stronger hunger than before a snack. The reputation of apples as a source of iron is also somewhat exaggerated: yes, there is iron in them, but in a form that is poorly absorbed by our body. As a healthy snack, it is much better to have healthy snacks on hand - for example, from the Shefmarket fresh food delivery service. The snacks set contains organic dried fruits, muesli bars, granola and natural chips - dried pieces of vegetables or fruits with cereals, in which all the useful vitamins and trace elements have been preserved, and, on the contrary, there is very little sugar.
It is better to give up fat altogether.
According to many adherents of diets, fats are the main evil: they harm the figure, cause problems with the heart and blood vessels. Therefore, it is necessary to reduce their number, preferably to zero. In fact, we need fats like air. It is of them that the cell membranes and the sheaths of nerve fibers consist. Lack of fat leads to disturbances in the functioning of the nervous system and can come back to haunt many very serious problems - from memory impairment to depression and Alzheimer's disease. Without fat, a number of fat-soluble vitamins, in particular A, E and D, are not assimilated. A study from Tufts University has shown that a low-fat diet leads to impaired memory, concentration and the ability to plan actions - and not in the long term, but after one to two years.
Olive oil doesn't make you fat
Olive oil is very aromatic and tasty, it is perfect for a wide variety of products and turns even the simplest salad into an exquisite Mediterranean dish, it contains vitamins A, E, K and B3 and other useful substances. A useful product from all sides. But 100 grams of oil contains about 900 kilocalories.

Coffee is a dangerous carcinogen
WHO experts have spent over 20 years researching coffee, and their verdict is acquittal. No, coffee has no effect on the risk of cancer. A well-known study from the 1970s did show some correlation between love of coffee and cancer. But it was carried out incorrectly - the researchers kept silent that the fans of the invigorating drink, who got cancer, were also fans of smoking and hard alcohol. In fact, coffee, which is high in antioxidants, may even lower the risk of certain tumors, such as uterine cancer.
Sugar substitutes are healthier than real sugar
To some extent, yes - they make it possible to slightly reduce the total number of calories in the diet. But this is the only positive point. In general, sugar substitutes can be dangerous - there is a risk of diabetes when using them. Scientists believe that the system works like this: after receiving information that you are eating something sweet, the body produces insulin, which is not required for processing sugar substitutes. Over time, glucose intolerance can develop, and from here it is already one step to type 2 diabetes. If that's not enough for you, here's some more information to think about: Xylitol, which is often used in the manufacture of chewing gum, causes diarrhea in large quantities.

Oatmeal is the best breakfast
“Yes, if it’s an honest oatmeal made from flakes like Hercules, and not instant porridge from a bag,” explains Vasily Emelianenko, brand chef of the Shefmarket service. To actually cook the flakes in one minute, the shell is peeled off the grains, so the amount of fiber that gives a feeling of fullness and maintains a healthy intestinal microflora is not very large in "quick" cereals.
To assess the "benefits" of instant porridge, you do not even need to conduct laboratory tests. Look at the packaging - with a high degree of probability you will see sugar (and a lot of sugar) and refined vegetable oil in the composition, so such porridge is a very high-calorie product.
