Karl Lagerfeld's cat became the heroine of the LucyBalu project

The cat Choupette, donated to designer Karl Lagerfeld by model Batiste Ghabiconi in 2011, became the heroine of a project by LucyBalu, a designer pet furniture company. According to Dezeen, the cat "personally approved the design of the Swing hanging bed prototype delivered to her through an agent." The couch is now on sale with the name Choupette.

“We sent our hammock to Agent Choupette in Paris as a gift. - says Mathias Warenberger, founder of LucyBalu. “Some time after that, we got a message that Swing was Choupette’s new favorite place. At that moment our dream of working with Karl Lagerfeld's cat became a reality."

The Shuppet cat has become one of the most famous pets in the world - and not only because of the name of its owner. She has appeared in advertising campaigns for the cosmetic brand Shu Uemura and the car brand Opel, as well as for the covers of Vogue and Madame Figaro magazines. After Karl Lagerfeld's death in February 2019, Choupette was named the heiress of the designer's $ 200 million fortune.

Roberto Cavalli has found a new creative director

Roberto Cavalli has found a creative director to replace Paul Surridge, who left the Italian brand in March 2019. It will be Fausto Puglisi, the Sicilian designer and founder of the brand of the same name, who confirmed the assumptions of the WWD publication on his instagram.

Puglisi could have joined the brand's team back in 2017, following the departure of creative director Peter Dundas. However, then the decision was made in favor of Surridge. Today, the appointment of a designer has become possible, in particular, due to the fact that Roberto Cavalli has changed its owner. In November 2019, Hussein Sajwani, founder and chairman of the Dubai-based development company Damac Properties, took over the brand. According to WWD, he planned to restart Roberto Cavalli with the help of Puglisi.

Prada has expanded its Re-Nylon collection

The Prada Re-Nylon collection, which debuted in 2019 with a series of bags for men and women, now includes clothing. These are quilted jackets, single-breasted coats, tracksuits and dresses, which, in tribute to the first Prada nylon backpack in 1984, were supplemented with pockets, buckles and textile shoulder straps. The expanded collection also includes shoes: updated versions of Monolith boots and boots, low and high sneakers.

All items are made entirely from reclaimed nylon, created by recycling and cleaning plastics from the oceans, fishing nets and landfills. Through a process of depolymerization, purification, transformation into new polymers and then into fibers, this material can be recovered and transformed into a new nylon fabric - econil. This technology reduces the global warming impact of nylon production by up to 90% compared to the production of a material made from petroleum.

The Prada Re-Nylon collection is presented in select boutiques around the world, where it is shown on special displays and showcases. In Moscow, they are installed in the Prada store on Bolshaya Dmitrovka. A little later, the display and showcases will appear in the brand's spaces in TSUM, GUM and Crocus City Mall, as well as in Kiev and Almaty.

Designer Katya Dobryakova opened a store for her new brand DBRKV

Russian designer Katya Dobryakova, who, after the closure of the brand of the same name, started creating handmade Cossacks under the DBRKV brand, opened a store. It is located at Maly Kislovsky Lane, 9с1 and united a showroom, a coffee shop and a bakery. The concept of the store developed from Katya Dobryakova's quarantine hobby: she baked honey cake and sold them in a pastry shop next to her house. Unlike baked goods, the DBRKV Cossacks can also be bought on the corporate website: low suede shoes in different colors will cost 19,750 rubles, and leather high shoes - 29,000 rubles.
