Rene Lalique adhered to the rule of three F: Femme, Faune, Flora (woman, fauna, flora). One of these motives was always present in his works, and sometimes several. The Lalique company is still faithful to the traditions of its founder: creating the Botanica collection, artists were inspired by the fragile and fleeting beauty of peonies, lilies of the valley, orchids and cherry blossoms, which they managed to capture in crystal. For the other two F, sculptures are responsible: "Flora" in the form of an ancient Roman goddess and "Wolf" howling at the moon.
Japanese art, presented in Paris at the 1878 World Exhibition, made an unforgettable impression on the young Rene Lalique - since then, oriental prints have invariably been present in Lalique's works. Thus, the Cherry Blossom vases are completely decorated with graceful sakura branches. The buds "bloom" on transparent, amber and violet crystal; each petal is manually covered by Lalique by a master of gold enamel.

Vases and bowls "Peonies" are a bold contrast of opposites: a brutal square shape and a lush floral ornament. Garlands of flowers twine around the crystal edges of the vases, while the peonies are made extremely realistically: such a detailed study of details reminds of the "lost wax" technology, which was used even under Rene Lalique. The Botanica collection would not be complete without Rene Lalique's favorite flower, a symbol of good luck - lily of the valley. The craftsmen not only decorated vases and candlesticks with them, but also emphasized its fragility with an unusual visual effect: the surface of objects becomes matte as the pattern moves from the bottom to the top.

One of the most spectacular items in the collection is a decanter, on the lid of which large orchid flowers made of matte crystal "bloom". The bowl itself is transparent so that you can fully appreciate the color of the drink.

In addition to vases for flowers and fruits, candlesticks and decanters, sculptures were brought to Moscow. "Flora", issued in a limited edition (only 99 pieces), is made in the form of the ancient Roman goddess of nature from matte crystal. Cherry blossoms wrapping around her back are another reference to Japanese culture and cherry blossoms as one of its main symbols.
