Watch "Mouse King", Konstantin Chaykin

On the eve of the Chinese New Year, Konstantin Chaikin presented a special version of his most successful Joker model - the Mouse King. According to the author, the idea of "The Mouse King" came to his mind when he read to his daughter Hoffmann's story about the Nutcracker. For Chaikin, this story is symbolic because one of the main characters, Drosselmeyer, is also a watchmaker. However, this time he was more interested in the figure of the Mouse King, who was chosen as the hero for the clock timed to coincide with the beginning of the new year according to the Eastern calendar.

This is how the Joker version appeared, depicting both an adventurous mouse from Chinese mythology and an evil king from a Hoffmann tale. Since 2020 is considered the year of the Metal Mouse, polished titanium was chosen for the watch case, and the dial is covered with a complex guilloche pattern (straight stripes for the mustache). The mouse ears serve as the upper lugs of the strap, and the crown is for the first time presented as a royal crown. As in the classic Joker, this model has no hands: mouse eyes with pupils serve as hour and minute indicators, a movable red tongue denotes the lunar phases. The Mouse King was released in the amount of 7 copies - that is how many heads the mouse king from the Hoffmann fairy tale had.
