Nicolas Bose, President of Van Cleef & Arpels
“My role remains the same: first of all, I am President of Van Cleef & Arpels. But from September I also become a member of the board of directors of the entire Richemont group. I think this is partly an honorary appointment, a kind of recognition of my merits and achievements in the brand. Well, and besides, there is a recognition that jewelry brands (Van Cleef & Arpels and Cartier) should have greater autonomy. There is much more synergy in the watch brands that Georges Kern will now run, the same can be said about the accessories and leather direction, which will be dealt with by Jerome Lambert, but Cartier with Van Cleef & Arpelsquite rightly did not unite. I still cannot describe exactly how our work with Jerome and Georges will be structured, but I can definitely explain: we will coordinate our actions, but neither of us will be the boss to the other."
Watch of the day -
Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar, Audemars Piguet
For the first time, the famous "royal oak" Audemars Piguet appeared completely dressed in black: the automatic movement of the perpetual calendar 5134 is housed in a black ceramic case (remember that a yellow gold version was released last year). A flexible bracelet is also made of black handcrafted ceramic, and the recognizable links have both satin-finished and polished surfaces. Because ceramics are extremely difficult to work with, making the ceramic bracelet, including processing and assembling, took 30 hours, five times more than a regular steel Royal Oak bracelet requires.

Collection of the Day -
Panthère de Cartier
First watch with a spotted Cartier motifappeared in the distant 1914, and the commercial collection of women's watches Panthère de Cartier (based on the Santos model) was released in 1983. However, not only Tina Turner, but also Keith Richards and even Pierce Brosnan liked the new yellow gold accessory. The current interpretation of the "predatory" model completely repeats the original shape of the samples of the 80s, a flexible bracelet made of polished metal and even a quartz movement. The new line includes 17 references: medium and small models in steel, yellow and rose gold, white gold with full brilliant pavé or diamonds combined with black enamel stains, as well as a bi-color version and a limited edition in rose gold with separate black lacquer bracelet links and dial fragments. The most affordable Panthère de Cartier watches start at € 3200.

Union of calibers and motors
Clifton Club Shelby Cobra, Baume & Mercier
This sporty chronograph was inspired by the legendary American Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupé, created in the 1960s by Peter Brock for racing driver and businessman Carroll Shelby. It was on it that the Shelby team won the victory at Le Mans in 1964.

Half a century later, together with the watchmakers Baume & Mercier, Brock created a new chronograph, embodying the ideal aerodynamics of the iconic American car in watch design. The 44mm titanium case is framed by a two-tone blue and silver dial that mirrors the body color, the tachymeter is marked with the 196 mph speed record for a racing car, and the case back looks like Daytona Coupé wheels. The series is limited to 196 pieces.

Excalibur Spider Pirelli, Roger Dubuis
The watch brand has partnered with the Italian company Pirelli, the only supplier of premium tires for the world's leading motorsport competitions. As part of the joint project, two new models are presented, the straps of which have rubber inserts from certified Pirelli tires with a branded tread pattern. These tires once participated in races and brought victories to their pilots.
The double flying tourbillon in a 47 mm titanium skeleton case with vulcanized blue rubber accents is released in a series of eight pieces. A skeleton with an automatic caliber RD820SQ in a titanium skeletonized case with a diameter of 45 mm will go on sale in the amount of 88 copies.

RM 50-03 McLaren F1, Richard Mille
It is the lightest mechanical chronograph. Its weight, including the strap and the complex caliber with tourbillon and split-chronograph, is only 40 g. Not only watchmakers Richard Mille and designers of the McLaren racing team worked on the creation of the revolutionary model, but also Nobel laureates, scientists from the University of Manchester. They studied how titanium, carbon and graphene interact, a special two-dimensional modification of carbon one atom thick that is six times lighter than steel and 200 times stronger. The innovative watch was created as part of a 10-year partnership between Richard Mille and the McLaren team.

Event of the Day -
IWC Traditional Party
The past day became a benefit performance for Georges Kern - they didn't want to let him go from IWC for a long time from the party itself. And the new position was seen off by all Hollywood. Kevin Spacey (online) and Isabelle Huppert, Niki Lauda, Jean Reno, Rosamund Pike, Nico Rosberg, Karolina Kurkova, Adriana Lima and Alexei Nemov, the brand's permanent ambassador to Russia, gave speeches and gave a standing ovation. A concert by the fashionable Danish singer MØ awaited all those present.
