The famous Russian watchmaker and inventor Konstantin Chaikin writes his "Martian Chronicles". His new concept Mars Conqueror combines astronomical and space functions: the clock shows the average solar time and date on Mars and on Earth, as well as the relative position of both planets in orbits (this indicator is designed as a planetarium).
All indicators are distributed between three dials, and the time indication on Earth and Mars is synchronized, since one balance node is used. An intricate 159-piece module, designed and assembled at Konstantin Chaykin, is fitted to the basic automatic caliber ETA 2836-2.

For the presentation of the innovative space watch caliber, Chaikin chose July 27, 2018. On this day, Mars and Earth will be at a minimum distance from each other. This phenomenon is called the great confrontation and occurs every 15-17 years. At the same time, another remarkable astronomical event will occur - the longest total lunar eclipse in the 21st century. It will last 3 hours 56 minutes, from 21:24 to 01:20 Moscow time. These phenomena coincide once every 25 thousand years, so that we will have an exceptional day in all respects.
The Mars Conqueror case design is still in development. The premiere of the ready-made "Martian" watch will take place at Baselworld on March 21, 2019.>
