Singer Rihanna has collaborated with the Parisian house of Dior to develop a collection of sunglasses called simply "Rihanna". It includes six pairs of glasses of the same shape in six colors: silver, pink, blue, green, red and 24-carat gold-plated. For such a futuristic frame shape, Rihanna was inspired by the hero of the legendary science fiction series "Star Trek: The Next Generation" Jordi La Forge. “I was obsessed with the glasses he wore. When I got into the Dior archive and saw what kind of legacy I would have to work with, everything worked out by itself,”said Rihanna, choosing a vintage 2000 copy as a prototype for future glasses.

At Dior and Rihanna had the experience of working together. In 2015, she appeared as a brand ambassador for Dior 's Secret Garden IV ad, but the eyewear collection was her first design project with a famous Parisian house. “We are very pleased to collaborate with Rihanna for the second time. In the eyes of today's generation, she is the ideal artist, entrepreneur, philanthropist and style icon,”commented Dior CEO Sidney Toledano.
The glasses will be on sale from the beginning of June exclusively in Dior boutiques.>
