All week, the press wondered which designer Meghan Markle would wear to the altar in May 2018. But the engagement photos released on December 21 by Kensington Palace have given new ground for conversation.
The photos show Meghan Markle in a dress from the British brand Ralph & Russo from the fall-winter 2016 couture collection. The fashion house is known for its evening gowns, which are often seen on red carpets.

Meghan Markle's dress with a translucent top and a floor-length organza skirt trimmed with black ruffles cost £ 56,000, The Telegraph reported. In rubles, it is more than 4,300,000. Such a high price attracted everyone's attention so much that Kensington Palace was forced to announce that the dress was bought "privately".
However, there are much more democratic outfits in Markle's wardrobe. Prince Harry's bride wore a Self-Portrait dress for just £ 180 for her first Christmas lunch at Buckingham Palace, which was attended by members of the royal family. The brand was created in 2013 by Malaysian-born London designer Han Chong.

The wife of Prince William, Kate Middleton, in her wardrobe also skillfully combines outfits from famous designers and clothes from mass market brands. In the spring of 2017, during a visit to Paris, the Duchess of Cambridge appeared in public in a Chanel dress-coat for £ 8,350, and during last year's visit to India she did not hesitate to wear Topshop dresses and Zara pants.>
