The French jewelry house Cartier has made it a rule to present its high jewelery collections at private parties for clients. The first part of the Magicien collection was shown in the summer on the French Riviera - guests saw about 50 new products there, including jewelry, jewelry watches, precious eyeglass frames and even a handbag. Cartier staged a continuation of its magical history in Japan: 43 high jewelery pieces, three table clocks and four accessories were exhibited at the National Museum of Tokyo. Behind each item are thousands of hours of handicraft and many years of painstaking search for precious stones - emeralds, sapphires, rubellites, star rubies.

The Cinetique bracelet, for example, is dominated by a huge 40.68-carat polished emerald cut into a prism. Jewelers also worked hard on cutting stones. In the Psyche ring, a light brown diamond weighing over 8 carats appears in the form of a regular hexagon surrounded by colorless diamonds and triangular-cut smoky quartz. Bulky, convex triangles intertwine to create a luminous white gold Luminance necklace. In addition to triangular cut diamonds, it uses triangular rose cut diamonds, and the stones are often double rimmed.

Cartier jewelers have not forgotten their signature style of Tutti Frutti: a dozen ornaments (earrings, bracelets, necklaces) are made of emerald, ruby and sapphire beads covered with carving and engraving. In total, about 500 Cartier high jewelery pieces were brought to the Tokyo Museum.

The Cartier exhibition at the Tokyo National Museum is open October 10-21.>
