This year Bulgari designers decided to remember everything - the collection The Magnificent Inspirations is not limited to one subject, it has incorporated almost all the main themes and motives in the history of the brand. There are also the famous Serpenti snakes, and jewelry with antique coins (Monete), and Parentesi with a motif inspired by the masonry of Roman pavements, and Fiore di Bulgari's signature flower with four petals … In the jewelry world, such retrospective collections are usually presented for the anniversary, but Italians decided not to wait for a round date.

The biggest reforms took place in the Serpenti line. In the serpentarium of The Magnificent Inspirations, there was a place for large species - impressive sizes of pendants to a necklace in the form of a snake's head, the most interesting of which is the one with ruby eyes and a large sapphire on the crown. There are also snakes with beautiful mimicry in the collection - it is almost impossible to find a coiled snake in the rings at first glance, the motif of the snake scale is brought to convention and seems to be a geometric ornament resembling a honeycomb. This spectacular solution is, in fact, also a clever commercial move. As the creative director of Bulgari Lucia Silvestri explains, in many cultures the snake is treated with apprehension, and in this - conditional - execution, according to Bulgari, it should not cause superstitious awe.

Another great success of the collection is jewelry with large rare precious stones. Silvestri selects them personally: the Bulgari brothers taught her how to choose stones, and therefore you can find completely unique samples in the brand's jewelry. In The Magnificent Inspirations, this is primarily an 11-carat Burmese ruby, which Sylvestri acquired as part of an antique jewelry at an auction, and seven emeralds in a necklace in the form of a large chain, which she searched for over two years in Hong Kong, New York and Geneva … They are all from Colombia, but from different fields. And all were re-cut by Bulgari craftsmen. “Emeralds seem even more precious against the backdrop of a strict gold chain with large links,” says Silvestri. We must admit that the entire collection of The Magnificent Inspirations stands out against the general background.>
