Chinese is amazing. One of the oldest, brutally complex, but also the most popular in the world. Many want to teach him, but not all have enough patience, strength and perseverance for this.

The Hello Chinese app is a great way to learn the basics of Chinese and see if you like it without paying a dime. It is also one of the best linguistic apps in the App Store in general.

Learning the language will begin with pinyin - a system for writing Chinese words in Latin letters (for example, Chinese keyboards in modern smartphones are based on it). The application clearly, in the simplest syllables and words, tells about the rules for writing and reading transcription and provides all the information necessary for this. Did you know, for example, that in Chinese there is one syllable for each character?

Syllables are the second stage in mastering Chinese, then - tones, something with which beginners often have difficulties. Words in Chinese often need to be pronounced with special intonations established by the rules (there are four of them in total), and if you pronounce the seemingly the same letters, but raising your voice in the wrong place, the inhabitants of the Middle Kingdom may simply not understand you. At the end of each stage, you will find a small test task that will help you consolidate the material.

After you learn how to pronounce Chinese syllables, in fact, the main stage of training will begin (it is called “Basics”). It will introduce you to basic words like "hello mom and dad." Moreover, they will teach both reading and pronunciation: all words in the program are voiced by a native speaker, and using the smartphone's microphone, the application listens if you repeat correctly after the announcer. The tasks are very diverse: they ask you to write a word in pinyin, then by ear determine the meaning of the word and choose the correct option from the available ones, then click on the picture corresponding to it. You can even learn to write a word hieroglyphically by tracing a character on the screen with your finger until it is imprinted in your memory.

The further, the more difficult the tasks, over time you can reach big sentences, grammar and tenses - but for this you need to buy a premium account: 449 rubles. for a month, 799 for three and 2550 for an annual subscription. Quite a few, but considering the number of features, the price looks justified. Plus, there will be an incentive to practice daily - not to burn money just like that.>
