The stairs in Rome, Milan, Florence, Venice and Naples became a source of inspiration for the work of Michael Shilov: “I have always admired staircases, their grandeur and grace, the beauty of architectural forms and the elegance of simple lines that form endless paths. The staircase, la scala, is not only a functional element, but also an important decoration for every interior - from a minimalist villa to a luxurious palace. Traveling through Italy, with its magnificent architecture, I came across many different staircases, and some of them are forever engraved in my memory. That is why I dedicated this collection of rugs to the multifaceted image of the staircase, shown from an unusual angle."

All carpets in the La Scala collection are woven in Nepal using the ancient knot technique: craftsmen weave a large number of knots per square meter, and a durable carpet with an unusual uneven surface is obtained. Weavers also use additional techniques, such as the "chameleon effect": first, they draw the exact position of each knot on a sketch and then get to work. As a result, the carpet has a characteristic play of color and smooth transitions from one shade to another.

When working, craftsmen alternate Chinese silk threads with New Zealand woolen threads, add a special loop when weaving and work with a large number of shades of the same color. All of this is aimed at conveying the idea of Mike Shilov - rich colors and intricate graphics, woven into a soft carpet. By the way, under the personal supervision of the designer, each carpet of the new capsule can be customized: "play with" the shades, make it more strict or adjust to the required size.
