Valentino's creative directors Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli have shown their own take on what is called the essentials of any wardrobe. A distinctive feature of the items included in the Rockstud Untitled capsule collection are stylized metal spikes that have been present in the house's collections for many years.
“We wanted to make the best classic trench coat, the best leather jacket, the best beige coat, in a word, something that will serve you for a very long time,” said Maria Grazia Chiuri. “It was not easy because all these things are universal. We tried to look at them from a completely different point of view."
For inspiration, the designers turned to the traditional Japanese art of ceramic restoration - kintsugi - in which cracks are not masked, but, on the contrary, emphasized. In the case of Rockstud Untitled, metal spikes located at the seams of things serve the same function as a special varnish that sticks together broken dishes.

The collection, which is already available in Valentino boutiques, includes 12 pieces each for women and men. “We will continue to develop this line as the main line if we want,” said the creative director of the house. “In the end, these are the things that will become the basis of your individual style.”>
