The history of Ermenegildo Zegna began with textile production, or, to be more precise, the finest fabric made of sheep wool, which was spun in a factory opened in 1910 by the very same Ermenegildo Zenya, whose proud name the Italian brand bears today. By the way, the company will start sewing perfectly fitting men's suits on its own only after half a century, already with the sons of the founder, and before that it will be quite content with selling first-class materials - after all, forty countries went to customers!
Paying tribute to the weaving tradition, Zegna, which has long been associated with more than just merino wool, suggests meeting this spring that has finally come and the summer that followed it with accessories made of Pelle Tessuta leather, that is, braided. To produce one, the nappa is cut into strips two millimeters wide and sent to the machine; at the same time weave in the Trofeo technique, which is also used for wool. It sounds simple enough, but in fact it took a lot of research.

But the result is a canvas that combines the reliability of the skin with the softness of the fabric. This set of characteristics is ideal for footwear - be it loafers, sneakers or sandals. However, bags and purses made of "braided" or with its partial use also turn out to be glorious - even in this case Pelle Tessuta bears more aesthetic load. In the meantime, there is no need to know about it.”
