The guitar is not one of the most difficult musical instruments, but learning to play it yourself, even with the simplest basic chords, is quite difficult. The point is not so much in the setting of hands as in the need to be able to read and memorize tablature - a schematically written sequence of notes that make up a melody or consonance. This requires patience and time - and many do not have the latter.
The creators of the Fret Zeppelin project (for this name they were clearly inspired by the cult British group Led Zeppelin) claim that with the help of such a guitar device, a beginner can play his first square of four chords in a few minutes. The thing is that Fret Zeppelin can highlight the necessary frets, where you need to put your fingers in order to play the right part. Each note has its own color, so getting used to it, it will be impossible to get confused.
After upgrading the guitar, you can then connect it to your smartphone and select the song you want to learn to play in a special application. As soon as you play the desired melody or chord note, the program will "slip" the next sequence to the instrument, and the instrument will display it using the lights. This way, you can easily memorize and learn the part without having to constantly check the tabs on the monitor screen.
The creators promise to fill the application library with a huge number of famous songs of a wide variety of styles, from pop rock to folk.
Best of all, the Fret Zeppelin can be fitted to almost any six-string guitar, both acoustic and electric. The shape of the instrument does not matter. The creators tried to make the pickups as thin as possible so that the strings do not touch them when playing.
The project team has been working on Fret Zeppelin for five years, but it has only now reached the stage of a working prototype. Perhaps that is why the battery life of the system is not indicated on the project page - it is only stated that it is "long", without any specific numbers.
The commercially finished device is promised to be delivered to customers in October 2017, and you can pre-order on Indiegogo. The cost of one set is $ 199.>
