iOS 10 is perhaps the most ambitious redesign of the system since iOS 7. Visually, the changes are not so radical - judging by what we were shown, outwardly iOS will just become a little neater and fresher, but the changes in the interface are really impressive.
Lock screen notifications (finally!)
Firstly, the lock screen has been redesigned from scratch - the screen of a locked smartphone. Now, the iPhone will “wake up” every time you pick it up from the table or bring it to your face. Notifications are now displayed on the lock screen, and using 3D-Touch, you can interact with them in the same place: for example, reply to messages without launching the messenger application. The notifications themselves have been seriously revised - they have become much more informative.
In general, the system is very similar to the one in Android, and this is good news, given that notification management is one of the strongest aspects of Google's operating system.
In addition, widgets can be displayed on the lock screen. By placing, say, a widget of a sports program there, you can look at the results (and even video of the moments!) Of the match going in real time without unblocking the smartphone.
Siri will learn how to work with applications
The second, no less important change in iOS 10 - Apple makes Siri open to developers. This means that soon Siri will start working with all popular applications for iOS (if, of course, the creators add such an opportunity to their developments). Now the functionality of the iPhone personal assistant is closed on Apple services and applications: it can interact with preinstalled programs such as notes and an alarm clock, but cannot work with third parties. In iOS 10, you can use Siri to call Uber, ask your helper to dial someone on Skype, voice delivery, and so on.
Siri will become smarter. Like Cortana from Windows 10, it will learn to recognize the context of sentences (by analyzing their meaning and structure) and commands, taking into account, for example, your location and so on.
It will be more fun to communicate
For iPhone users on iOS 10, the redesigned Messages app is sure to be more emotional. Apple's messenger will be able to functionally compete with Whatsapp and Viber, and in some ways even surpass them.
A preview mode will be available for all links - you will not need to go to Safari to look at the picture, or open YouTube for three seconds of video - everything will be displayed in the message box.
After typing the text, the user can replace it with emoticons, and in one click, using a special button that "highlights" the available words. The smilies themselves will be three times larger.
IOS 10 introduces new types of animated messages: now you can write a word by hand or even draw something, and the recipient will see not only the result, but also the process, line by line.
Such a system is now in the Apple Watch. Some messages will be able to take up the entire screen, others will remain invisible until you literally slide your finger across them. All in all, Apple has made texting much more fun.
All your photos will be processed by artificial intelligence. He will be able to recognize the faces of people in the pictures, as well as the environment, and label them with appropriate labels ("children", "cars", "nature"), which will greatly simplify the search for photos.
This is how “Google. Photo”, but the Apple application has a significant difference: all artificial intelligence calculations are carried out inside your iPhone, without the need for a network connection. “Google. Photo”searches for pictures only if you have Internet access. In addition, it will be possible to edit animated Live Photos.
Apple Music and Maps redesign
The Apple Music music application will receive an updated design, which cannot but rejoice, because only a lazy one did not kick it for the chaotic interface. Everything promises to become simpler, more understandable and clear - what more could you want?
“Maps” will also get better - they will learn to show information about traffic jams and suggest detour routes.
That's right, macOS is the official new name for the operating system Apple developed for its computers. The latest version was named Sierra.
Its main innovation is Siri. It works much the same on macOS as it does on iOS. By clicking on the special icon in the upper right corner of the screen, you can ask her to look at information on the Internet, set a reminder or add an appointment to the calendar. An important difference is that on computers the assistant can also search for files at your request.
Two other useful features continue to grow the Apple device ecosystem. The first - Mac - will not require a password at boot if you have an Apple Watch on your hand. The second is called Universal Clipboard: by copying, say, a link or a piece of text on your iPhone, you can almost instantly paste it into the desired program on your Mac.
The iCloud cloud service will add new functionality. Sierra will learn to automatically delete unnecessary, unused files from memory and upload them to the cloud, thus freeing up disk space on your computer.
Apple Pay will start working in Safari: after placing an order in a browser on a Mac, you just need to bring your finger to the fingerprint scanner on your iPhone to complete and confirm the payment. Unfortunately, Apple Pay does not work in Russia yet.
And right from iPad to macOS, the picture-in-picture function will move: by launching a video, you can move it across the screen in a small window, while continuing to work in another program.
Most importantly, watchOS 3 will be faster. And significantly: thanks to software improvements called Launch, applications on Apple smartwatches will launch up to seven times faster than they do now. In addition, Apple has redesigned the system interface, simplifying the way to get information from notifications, and also added support for handwriting: you can reply to messages by drawing letters on the watch screen.
One of the most popular apps on Apple Watch, Activity, will receive social features. Your results can be compared with the statistics of friends and relatives. The Breathe app will teach watch users the technique of deep breathing, which has a beneficial effect on the body.
iOS 10, macOS Sierra and watchOS 3 will be officially available to Apple users in September.>
