Boucheron: about Russia with love

In Paris, the days of the haute couture week are sunny and hot, but not at the presentation of Boucheron. Inside the room, where the jewelry house presented a new collection of haute joaillerie, there is a real Russian winter - with snow (artificial, of course), trees covered with hoarfrost and even a hut with tiles. The choice of setting is explained by the theme: the new collection Hiver Impérial ("Imperial Winter") is dedicated to Russia.

To get inspired, Boucheron creative director Claire Chuan even toured the Golden Circle with the team a few years ago. The result was not a touristy and precious history devoid of banal associations and images.

So, the main and most expensive (more than € 2 million) adornment of the entire collection is a seven-piece transformable necklace with a detachable ring (such an integration of a ring into a transformer is encountered by Boucheron for the first time), earrings, three hair ornaments, a brooch and a brooch - this is a stylized giant snowflake … She, like several other large snowflake jewelry in the collection, was inspired by the work of Wilson Alvin Bentley. This is the first famous snowflake photographer, and for his love for them, he even received the nickname "Snowflake". And by the way, their motive on such a large scale is used for the first time in a haute joaillerie at home.

Like last year's Summer High Jewelery collection, the new Hiver Impérial is divided into three thematic chapters on architecture, couture and nature.

The theme of nature is devoted to the chapter "The Color of the Night" with onyx and diamonds in a necklace symbolizing trees in the snow, and a brooch in the form of a skeletonized leaf in gold and diamonds. There are also new representatives of the Boucheron menagerie, the most charming of which are foxes and huskies (an incredible blue-gray sapphire charms at the husky ring).

The couture chapter "Woman of the North" contains many jewelry with akoya pearls, and the part devoted to architecture "The Golden Ring" contains the most unusual materials in the collection, especially interesting items with sculpted aspen or marquetry made of it.

Other unusual techniques include inlaying the surface of the ring with black onyx beads, and the central part, on top of it, with a diamond ornament.

There are many signature features of Claire Chuan's style in the collection: the use of crystal, moreover, in the most complex and sometimes unimaginably complex techniques (for example, crystal tubes are filled with black spinel balls in a ring), the volume and lightness of jewelry at the same time, references to the archives and history of Boucheron. This time, however, by going to Russia, Shuang moved away from these archives at a completely correct distance.

The Russian theme is also relevant because this year, in November, it is planned to officially open a new flagship boutique Boucheron in Moscow, to which a part of the Hiver Impérial will certainly be brought.

Messika: the holiday is always with you

Valerie Messica continues the theme "Paris is a holiday", first formulated in the collection "Paris est une fête". Its first part (about 30 items) was presented at an exhibition in Basel. “The original idea was to help my beloved city to perk up after terrorist attacks and other unpleasant events,” says Valerie. - This city has long inspired me, and I wanted to return to the era of the 1920s. It was during this decade that he turned into the world capital of fashion, design, luxury, art, creativity in the broadest sense. " Women played a significant role in this "revolution" of ideas, so many sets bear the names of outstanding and extravagant representatives of their time - Isadora (Isadora Duncan), Madeleine (Madeleine Vionne). Paris holiday Messikacontinues, and Valerie presents a dozen more unique jewelry in white gold and colorless diamonds.

Among them there are many topical chokers and ear cuffs. One of the Zelda diamond collars with a central 3.81 carat emerald-cut diamond is dedicated to the wife of Francis Scott Fitzgerald. The Man Ray tie necklace (named after the famous artist and photographer, although it could have been named after one of his muses, Kiki de Montparnasse) is woven from 784 diamonds and feels like silk to the touch. You can detach the long "tie" part from it and wear it as a stand-alone choker, or add a pear-cut diamond to the short necklace.

If you are thinking of buying a pair of classic diamond earrings, you should definitely not go to Messika's boutique on rue Saint-Honore. Here they will offer either unpaired earrings, or one of a fancy shape. But it is precisely these who have recently become a recognizable "feature" of Valerie, although they require extremely accurate and precise technique of execution in order to perfectly "sit" on the ear and coincide with the hole in the lobe. Among the novelties are Isadora ear cuffs of 19 pear-cut stones and unpaired Roaring Diamonds of diamonds of different cuts. But Valerie decided not to tie the Peacock earring to a point on the lobe: the shell is framed by 30 pear-shaped diamonds - and as a result, the ear looks covered with shining spikes.

In the heat of a jewelry studio, we arrived at the boutique with a necklace with a magnificent 10-carat diamond "pillow" and a cuff earring with a 7-carat pear-cut diamond. They have not even had time to set a price for them yet, but there is no doubt that it will exceed a million. The Diamond Celebration is in full swing!>
