The concept of Pong, one of the first video games in history, is familiar to even the most distant of them. Controlling a platform that can only move left or right, the player must break the blocks at the top of the screen with a ball bouncing off them.

For their Table Pong Project, Gerardo Orioli's team has slightly modified this formula, making the game feel like air hockey. In such a Pong, two people can fight. The task of each of them is to drive a cube stylized as a pixel into the opponent's "gate".

The system is built on the simplest laws of physics: players, rotating a special wheel, move magnets. The projectile is metal, so it can both magnetize to the platform and push off from it.

In the design of the table, the influence of old arcade machines from the 80s is obvious: there are large and pleasantly clicking buttons, and the playing field, for example, is stylized as a monochrome image. If you don't know that all objects in Pong are real, you might think that you have a huge black and white screen in front of you.

Using the table, you can not only play Pong, but also charge your phone or even listen to music - there are built-in speakers. The pleasure, however, is not cheap: one such table will cost $ 1100, and for $ 5000 you can order a model signed by the founder of the legendary Atari. Table Pong is available in four different colors (PONG, black, white and brown) and will only arrive in December.

You can order it on Kickstarter.>
