This weekend in California took place the final part of the SpaceX competition for the construction of a prototype hyperloop shuttle, the vehicle of the future, proposed by Elon Musk. Three teams reached this stage - they were called to the SpaceX headquarters in Hawthorne, California. The participants needed to develop a working prototype of the capsule, and then accelerate it to the maximum possible speed inside the 1.2 km long pipe. The winner was the WARR Hyperloop team from the University of Munich - they managed to reach a speed of 320 km / h. Shuttle of german engineers made from carbon fiber and weighs only 80 kg. It is powered by an 80-kilowatt electric motor and brakes with four pneumatic brakes.
Elon Musk congratulated WARR Hyperloop on Twitter, adding that the prototype of this team in the future can be accelerated to supersonic speeds.
The Russian offered a unique solution to the problem of traffic jams
If the hyperloop project seems to you too futuristic, a pipe dream that will never come true, just look at the concept of the Russian inventor Dahir Semyonov, who opened the Dahir Insaat engineering company in Turkey. He proposed to create a new type of transport, which will partially solve the problem of traffic jams - huge "gyrocar" sliding on a special "leg" on a narrow rail. The machine is kept unchanged by huge rotating gyroscopes inside, powered by solar panels.
This design allows the gyrocar to simply slide over any traffic jam in an urban environment. At the same time, the stands themselves are adjustable in height, so that, if necessary, the gyrocar can pass under each other without colliding. The body of such a machine is huge, which makes it possible, for example, to use it as public transport - instead of buses or trams. The video, which quickly went viral (187 thousand views in 5 days), shows gyrocar of different types and classes. For example, some of them have comfortable sofas and TVs instead of regular seats - this is something like a business class. There is even a firefighter gyrocar - it is generally designed according to the same principle, but it moves not along the rail, but along the road with the help of wheels, which allows the driver to freely change the direction of movement. A huge drone is hidden inside such a gyrocar, which, with the help of powerful fans, is able to lift a team of firefighters into the air - a terribly useful opportunity when the upper floors of high-rise buildings and skyscrapers are on fire.
So far, this is nothing more than a concept and there are no plans for its implementation in practice. But Hyperloop was once just nothing more than a bold idea. And now Hyperloop One is seriously planning to build a test section in Russia from Primorsky Krai to China.
