In recent years, the hype around 3D printers has faded away, and it may seem that they, having not found their niche, have turned into a strange gadget that no one really needs. This is not entirely true: there is indeed less news about printed plastic combat pistols (and you won’t surprise anyone with that), but these devices have found their audience. 3D printing is still one of the most promising types of production and opens up great opportunities for enthusiasts even at home. Apple and Google are actively developing 3D object scanning using smartphones - and Sony's new flagship, the Xperia XZ1, already knows how to create 3D virtual models based on real objects. Even in Windows 10, in standard Paint, you can work with 3D - and this is the most popular and simple photo editor in the world.

And now, in order to turn a computer model into a real one, you do not need to have the slightest knowledge of how 3D printing works. Sculpto +, a 3D printer that its creators call the "friendliest" in the world, has appeared on Kickstarter.

There are a number of reasons for this: Sculpto + weighs only 2.7 kg and is no larger than an average coffee machine. At the same time, the volume of the printable area is as much as five liters - that is, you can create objects the size of a soccer ball. When running, Sculpto + makes almost no sound (volume - around 45 decibels). It has three modes of operation: fast, but with low print resolution, slow, but high, and balanced. The objects are based on special spools filled with PLA, a degradable plastic.

In addition, Sculpto + is very easy to operate with a smartphone. Through a special application, you can send for printing both your own models (having previously downloaded them to the device) and third-party ones, choosing the one you need from the available collection. No cables or SD cards, everything is over the air.

Sculpto + costs $ 385 - a serial printer with this spec sometimes costs five times that. The kit comes with one half-kilogram coil - you can buy them separately, for $ 16 each. There are 20 colors to choose from. The friendliest printer will arrive to backers in November this year.
