Aventurine glass first appeared in the 17th century in Venice - in one of the glass-blowing workshops on the island of Murano. According to legend, a master glassblower accidentally poured copper shavings into a red-hot glass mass and received an extraordinary material with shining golden splashes. Actually, this "incident" is reflected in the name aventurine, from the Italian avventura. Subsequently, this was the name of the mineral, one of the varieties of quartz, with a similar shimmering effect. But watchmakers prefer to work with aventurine glass, which gives an extraordinary depth of shade of the night sky with a scattering of golden sparks.
