The Carrera y Carrera Jewelry House is participating in an art event of this level and scale for the first time; before that, the company was a partner of the Moscow International Film Festival for many years. Carrera y Carrera has thoroughly prepared for one of the most important forums in the field of contemporary art: in Gostiny Dvorthe pavilion of the jewelry brand will operate. On it you can see a miniature copy of the first workshop that Saturio Esteban Carrera opened in 1885 on Calle Santa Isabel in Madrid. A quarter of a century later, his son Jose Esteban, who returned to his native Spain after studying jewelry in Paris, worked here. It was in the 1920s that Carrera's craftsmen were considered among the best cutters of gemstones in Europe, including emeralds. A series of Santa Isabel jewelry is dedicated to the magnificent Colombian emeralds, which will be brought to Moscow especially for participation in Cosmoscow.
For the first time, Carrera y Carrera jewelers work with such large stones: the weight of emeralds varies from 7.74 to 61.71 carats - and the quality of each of the more than 40 used green stones is confirmed by an international certificate. The Santa Isabel mini-collection contains only four pieces - two necklaces, a pair of earrings and a ring - with emeralds set in platinum and diamonds of exceptional size and gemological characteristics.
It is well known that green stones from Colombia weighing more than 10 carats are extremely rare and incredibly expensive - in three years Carrera y Carrera gemologists have managed to assemble an outstanding collection of significantly larger specimens. The ring uses a rare round 28-carat emerald. In one of the necklaces the central stone weighs 61.71 carats, in the other 11 emeralds with a total weight of 201.1 carats are collected, and they are cut from a single piece of raw materials and therefore have the same color and clarity.

“This is a unique collection of the rarest Colombian emeralds that no one else has, and hardly anyone will ever find such a combination,” says Thomas Campon, gemologist at Carrera y Carrera. The emerald masterpieces of Carrera y Carrera leave no doubt that he is right.>
